Weston Park, a renowned stately home situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, is gearing up to host one of the region’s longest running and most spectacular Bonfire Night displays. Scheduled for Sunday, November 3, the event promises an evening filled with excitement, featuring two dazzling fireworks displays, a giant bonfire, traditional fairground rides, and a wide array of street food and refreshments.
Jennifer Astbury, Head of Estate Operations at Weston Park, expressed enthusiasm about this year’s festivities, emphasising its popularity among local families. “Our annual bonfire and fireworks night is a true Weston favourite, and this year will be no different,” she stated. Astbury added that the event aims to create a magical atmosphere that will delight attendees of all ages.
The highlight of the evening will be the giant bonfire, renowned as one of the largest in the region. This year, attendees can look forward to not just one but two spectacular firework displays, set against the backdrop of the parkland. The first display is scheduled for 6 pm, with a second, even more impressive display taking place at 7.30 pm.
Beyond the fireworks, the evening will feature a traditional fun fair, offering rides suitable for the whole family. Astbury highlighted the blend of entertainment and culinary delights that the event will offer. “When the colour and sparkles are no longer lighting up the skies above the parkland, the fun will continue with our traditional fun fair, which will have rides for all the family,” she explained.
Visitors will also be treated to a variety of delectable street food options, catering to diverse tastes. From gourmet burgers and loaded fries to sweet treats, there will be something for everyone. Local ales, ciders, and winter cocktails will be available, provided by the award-winning brewery, Hobsons. This focus on local food and drink aims to enhance the overall experience and celebrate the region’s culinary offerings.
Gates for the Bonfire Night event will open at 3 pm, allowing families to arrive early and soak in the festive atmosphere before the bonfire is lit at 5 pm. Astbury noted the importance of creating a safe and enjoyable environment for families, stating, “We take great pride in ensuring our events are family-friendly, providing a safe space for everyone to enjoy.”
The annual bonfire and fireworks night at Weston Park is expected to attract a large crowd, showcasing the venue’s commitment to hosting memorable events that bring the community together.
